The Rosie Sling is an everyday sling with an elegant twist! A minimalist design that features a stylish three-dimensional exterior pocket, spacious interior, and an interior slip pocket. A wide strap offers comfort while the dual strap connector enables ambidextrous wear. Detailed instructions walk you through every step, including tips and tricks for successful binding and sewing with clear vinyl!

This PDF sewing pattern offers over 300 photos to accompany meticulously detailed instructions. Additional instructions have been provided to make the sling fully or partially clear. Lots of tips, tricks, and extras included to help you along the way. Plus an occasional giggle or two.

SKILL LEVEL: Intermediate - It is helpful to have prior knowledge of binding and easing curves. A fully clear bag will be on the advanced side of intermediate as easing and sewing clear can be more difficult than other materials.

DOMESTIC FRIENDLY - Just be mindful of your materials. All machines have limits and it's best to know yours!

Approximate Finished Dimensions: 7.5" W x 11.5" H x 3.5" D

    • Both US Letter and A4 paper can be used to succesfully print the paper pieces. Please use Adobe Acrobat Reader to print your pattern at 100%.
    • If you are only using the cutting machine files, you will still need to print out some pieces as they assist you in marking your pieces.
    • Projector files are formatted to fit on a 24" x 36" cutting mat.
    • Cutting files have to be unzipped prior to use. You will see many files included in that zipped folder - please be sure to use the correct files for your machine. They are arranged to fit on a 12" x 24" cutting mat and have tips for cutting your directional fabric prior to doing so.

    Materials and Supplies Requirements

    Exterior Fabric:

    • 18" x ~53" Cork/Vinyl/Faux Leather/Clear Vinyl

The Front Pocket is a perfect spot to feature your favorite fabric or print! You’ll need less than a ½ yard!

    Lining Fabric:

    • 1/2 Yard Woven Fabric or Waterproof Canvas

If using Waterproof Canvas, there is no need to interface those pieces with woven interfacing.

    Interfacing/Stabilizer:

    • 1/2 Yard Fusible Fleece (Pellon Thermolam 971F)

I do not recommend Decovil Light in place of fleece. I suggest adding layers of Woven Interfacing cut to the stabilizer size as needed.

    • 1/2 Yard Woven Interfacing (Pellon SF101 or equivalent)
    • Medium/Heavyweight Interfacing Scraps (Decovil Light or equivalent)

    Hardware & Notions:

    • (2) 1" D-Rings
    • (1) 1.5" -or- 1" Swivel Snap Hook

    • (2) #5 Zipper Pulls (for Nylon Tape)
